Step 1

Making of chocolate disk for homemade Nutella pancakes

Take a sheet of butter paper and place it well on a flat-surfaced utensil. Scoop out 1¼ tsp. of Nutella, pour it on the sheet, and shape it like a small disk.

You can always customize the size of the disk as per your need.

Since chocolate lovers always want their Nutella pancakes oozing with chocolate, you can put in a big amount of chocolate through the disk size.

Now, put the disks in the freezer to solidify.

Cooking Hacks:

  • You can always switch between types of chocolate, but not only that, the chocolate filling can easily be mixed with fruits (such as bananas and strawberries).
  • Always pull out one disk at a time because Nutella thaws faster generally.
  • To customize the disk size, this recipe can easily be converted into mini Nutella pancakes.

Step 2

Making of batter for homemade Nutella pancakes

For pancakes, take a bowl and add eggs, plain flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

Use milk to mix the ingredients altogether until you get a thick batter.

(The most important part of the stuffed pancakes recipe is to master your pancake batter first)

Cooking Hack:

  • You can always prepare these pancakes beforehand
  • Pancake mix is another ready to cook strategy for the pancakes

Step 3

Making of pancakes

Now, take almost ¼ cup of batter and pour it on a non-stick frying pan on medium heat.

Scoop out the batter using a ladle and spread it evenly on the frying pan to form a circle.

Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes and then place a Nutella disk on the pancake and scoop out another layer of batter covering the disk from the top.

One side of the pancake will turn golden brown. You might also see bubbles on the top. In that case, flip it and let the other side get cooked properly.

Repeat the process from step 3 for another chocolate Nutella pancake recipe.

Cooking Hacks:

  • Make sure to obtain a thick consistency of the batter. If the batter is runny, it will not stick on the Nutella disk and cover the pancake from above.
  • Also, make sure the frying pan is not too hot; otherwise, the pancake will burn and not cook through.

Additional Information:

  • In the making of Nutella pancakes, you can always add fruits like banana or strawberry and have fruits stuffed pancakes instead.
  • For the banana pancake recipe, take 3-4 bananas, mesh it well, and spread it on the pancakes while they are cooking in the pan. Pour another scoop of batter and cover the mesh properly.
  • To add further flavors, various toppings are available as per your need and taste. Some people like chocolate powder sprinkled on the top of the pancakes whereas, some people like diced strawberries and sliced bananas served with Nutella pancakes. Cinnamon powder is another flavor added to the topping list by dessert lovers. Butter and maple syrup also go well with Nutella pancakes and fruit stuffed pancakes. If you’re really in the mood, a scoop of ice cream on a hot pancake will also do the trick!
  • If you’re opting to make Nutella pancakes without freezing the chocolate, skip making the disks and just put Nutella in the piping cone and pour a small amount of it on the batter. Then, cover the piped Nutella from the top with extra batter and wait for it to cook. Flip it when the time is right. Your fresh Nutella pancakes are ready to be served without additional hassle.

Storage tips: The pancake batter can be stored in an airtight jar with the edges properly sealed from the inside before putting on the lid. The batter can last up to three days only, not more than that. On the other hand, if you’re making a banana stuffed pancake recipe or a fruits stuffed recipe, fruit can be stored in the freezer after being washed and diced properly. But remember, if you’re using bananas, fresh is the way to go for the best pancakes.

Substitution tips: Vanilla extract is the most commonly used flavor in pancakes. However, it can be replaced with almond extract as per need.
