Create Gigi Hadid’s Spicy Vodka Pasta Recipe At Home

After that, fans went crazy making her recipe at home, and for a good reason! Her creamy, rich, spicy vodka pasta dish incorporates all of the best parts of eating pasta. With a decadent sauce and a hint of spice, you’ll be wanting to make this recipe every day of the week.

Who is Gigi Hadid?

Haven’t heard of Gigi Hadid? For those who don’t know, she is a model in the US that has been featured in Sports Illustrated, has been named International Model of the Year, and has modeled for the likes of Guess since she was a wee two years old. You may have seen her on tv in one of her many appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills between 2010 and 2012. She also hails from a family full of supermodels, including her sister Bella.

Total Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

2 servings

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove (diced)
  • ¼ green onion (can substitute shallot)
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbs vodka
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup of pasta
  • 1 tbs butter
  • ¼ cup parmesan (plus extra for serving)
  • Fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper

Directions

Step 1. Heat a pan over medium heat. Once the pan is thoroughly heated, add in the olive oil, garlic clove, and onion/shallot. Pan fry until the onion and garlic are soft and caramelized. This should take about 1-2 minutes. Make sure to stir continually, so the garlic and onion don’t burn.

Step 2. Add the tomato paste and vodka into the pan with the cooked onions and garlic. Keep stirring the mixture until the tomato paste is cooked. The paste will turn a darker red color instead of the normal bright red color straight from the can. 

Step 3. Add in the heavy cream and red pepper flakes. Keep stirring over the heat until the sauce starts to thicken. This should happen pretty quickly. 

Once the sauce has thickened – should be the consistency of pasta sauce you would find in a jar- take the sauce off of the heat. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4. Bring 2 cups of water to boil and add salt and pasta. Cook pasta according to directions on the package. Make sure to keep your pasta al dente, so it does not get too soft when added to the sauce. Be sure to set a time and strain the pasta when it hits the right consistency. 

You will need to keep ¼  cup of pasta water for the sauce. This is an important step. 

Step 5. Once the pasta is cooked, place the pan with the sauce back onto the stove at medium heat. Add the pasta and pasta water to the sauce. Stir the pasta sauce with the pasta until the pasta is covered. 

Step 6. Add the butter into the pan and continue stirring until the butter is melted and incorporated into the sauce.

Step 7. Once the sauce has reached a nice consistency, add in the parmesan cheese. Continue mixing until the cheese has incorporated and melted into the sauce.

Step 8. Remove the pasta from the pan and split it into two servings. Top each with more grated cheese (you can add however much you want) and sliced fresh basil.
